The inspirational Meg Lobb will be in conversation with Lisa Markwell (Food Editor at the The Sunday Times) about what it takes to work and live off one field. Meg Lobb is a first generation farmer who is starting her third season of growing at One Field Farm in Crantock, Cornwall. When a graduate career in publishing and project management threatened exhaustion she packed a bag, booked a one way flight and spent a life changing year working on small farms and rural businesses in Australia and America. In 2016 she returned home to Cornwall with no savings, knowing she wanted to grow food but was unsure of how to make it happen. With the help of a local farmer Meg started One Field Farm on one acre of farmland, erecting a huge second hand polytunnel in her first season and spending the rest of that summer learning how to grow in the fickle Cornish climate. Two years later and Meg grows a wide range of heritage herbs, vegetables and flowers which she sells to local families, businesses including Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen and occasionally cooks with her own produce, hosting seasonal feasts amongst the plants at the farm.
