It is with great personal regret that I confirm that the Porthilly Spirit festival will not go ahead in 2019.
Since the decision to refuse a licence for the event was made last week by Cornwall Council’s Licencing Committee, the team has been exploring all possible options to see if there was any way we can make the event happen.
After careful consideration we have decided that the only option we have is to cancel. A huge amount of work has been carried out by the organising team to put together a fantastic event programme, and we are hugely disappointed to be unable to welcome everyone to enjoy a weekend on the farm.
All ticket holders will receive a full refund, and will hear from our booking agent, Ticket Sellers, within 24 hours, explaining the process. Ticket Sellers policy is to refund the face value of the ticket; in addition to this, Porthilly Spirit will also refund the booking fee so all ticket holders are refunded the full amount they paid.
We have been swamped by lovely messages and offers of help since the licence news, and so from all of the Porthilly Spirit team, I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone for their support.
While our plans for the festival had the full support of all the local statutory authorities, we will work hard now to address the concerns of the local community in preparation for a new licence application for the event in 2020.
